Guardians pitcher Ben Lively will undergo Tommy John reconstruction surgery on his right elbow and will be sidelined for the rest of the season. The Guardians said before Friday night's game at Detroit that Lively's surgical date has not been set,

Ben Lively is expected to miss upward of 12 to 16 months, effectively ending his 2025 season. It could also bleed into the 2026 campaign.

Ben Lively had a career year in 2024 and looked to be building on that in 2025. But elbow surgery will derail that progress, as his season is done.
