  1. For a Single Folder

    1. Open File Explorer by pressing Windows key + E or clicking the folder icon on the taskbar.

    2. Navigate to the folder where you want to change the file view.

    3. Click on the View option in the menu bar at the top of the window.

    4. Choose your preferred view from the options, such as Details, List, Large icons, Small icons, Tiles, or Content.

    Applying the View to All Folders of the Same Type

    1. Open File Explorer and navigate to a folder with the desired content type (e.g., Documents, Pictures).

    2. Set your preferred view using the View menu as described above.

    3. Click the See more menu (three dots) in the top-right corner of the File Explorer window.

    4. Select Options from the drop-down menu.

    5. In the Folder Options window, go to the View tab.

    6. Click Apply to Folders to apply the current view settings to all folders of the same type.

    7. Confirm the action by clicking Yes in the pop-up window.

    8. Click OK to save the changes and close the window.

    Additional Tips

    • Use the Details view for more information about files, such as size and date modified.

    • Enable the Preview Pane from the View menu to quickly preview file contents.

    • To reset folder views to default, go to Folder Options > View tab and click Reset Folders.
